I had a deeper understanding of the statement especially after I got the first prize in an English speech contest last term. I used to spend little time on spoken English because it was not included in the exams. However, my teacher said, “English is for use, not just for exams.”
Impressed by her words, I began to practise my oral English. I listened to the tape and followed it, talked with foreigners online and kept reading aloud for twenty minutes every day.
