故选A项。

15.前文提到“It is important for shaping social relationships, maintaining and challenging social order, determining how we make sense of the world and our place in it, and in shaping our everyday actions and experiences in society.(它对塑造社会关系、维护和挑战社会秩序、决定我们如何理解世界和我们在其中的地位、塑造我们在社会中的日常行为和经验都很重要。)”,后文提到“In brief, sociologists define the non–material aspects of culture as the values and beliefs, language, communication and practices that are shared in common by a group of people.(简而言之,社会学家将文化的非物质方面定义为一群人共有的价值观、信仰、语言、交流和实践。)” B项“It is composed of both non-material and material things.”(它由非物质的和物质的东西组成。)
16.后文提到“It informs and is encapsulated in how we walk, sit, carry our bodies and interact with others; how we behave depending on the place, time and “audience”; and how we express identities of race, class and gender, among others. (它体现在我们走路、坐着、抬着身体以及与他人互动的方式中;我们的行为取决于地点、时间和“观众”;以及我们如何表达种族、阶级和性别等身份。)”由此判断,人们的一些行为也是根据文化本身而进行的。D项“Culture is also what we do and how we behave and perform.”(文化也是我们所做的以及我们的行为和表现。)
17.第三段第二句提到“This aspect of culture includes a wide variety of things, from buildings, technological gadgets and clothing, to film, music, literature and art, among others.(这方面的文化包括各种各样的东西,从建筑、科技产品和服装,到电影、音乐、文学和艺术等等。)”能通过建筑、科技等方式体现的文化指的是文化的物质方面,E项“Material culture is composed of the things that humans make and use.”(物质文化是由人类制造和使用的东西组成的。)
18.前文提到“Material culture emerges from and is shaped by the non-material aspects of culture.(物质文化产生于文化的非物质方面,并受其塑造。)”文化的物质和非物质方面是相互影响的,尤其是非物质方面会影响物质方面,G项“In other words, what we value, believe and know influences the things that we make.”(换句话说,我们所重视的、相信的和知道的影响着我们所做的事情)由此判断,该项中提到的“what we value, believe and know ”(我们所重视的、相信的和知道的)即为文化的非物质方面,该项起到承上启下的作用,故选G。
19.前文提到“ a powerful documentary film might change people’s attitudes and beliefs.”(一部好的纪录片可能会改变人的态度和信仰),且后文提到“What has come before in terms of music, film, television and art, for example, influences the values, beliefs and expectations of those who interact with them, which then, in turn, influence the creation of additional cultural products.”(例如,之前在音乐、电影、电视和艺术方面出现的东西影响着与之互动的人的价值观、信仰和期望,而这些价值观、信仰和期望又反过来影响着其他文化产品的创造。) A项“This is why cultural products tend to follow patterns.”(这就是为什么文化产品倾向于遵循模式。) 故选A。

45.The negative effects of using cellphones on students
As we all know, more and more students use cellphones in school nowadays. Though a cellphone is a useful tool, it could have lots of negative effects on students.
Firstly, using cellphones for a long time does harm to students’ health, especially to their eyesight. Secondly, by making calls and sending messages, students seldom communicate with relatives and friends face to face. Thirdly, some students send messages or watch videos instead of listening to teachers in class. As a result, their school grades go down rapidly. Last but not least, students who play with cellphones often have less time to play sports.

After that, I threw myself into math with newfound determination. Instead of hanging out with my friends after school, I would perch at the kitchen table, textbooks splayed out before me, and practice addition and subtraction. I thought to myself, if Bubbles, a dog, could learn math, then surely, I could too. With each passing week, I could see the fruits of my labor. Occasionally, during our study sessions, Dad would call Bubbles over. She would bark out the correct answers to simple math problems — it was a unique, interactive way for me to assess my progress. I swelled with pride at my achievements, my parents were overjoyed, and Miss Beisner’s smile returned.
One day, I asked Dad whether Bubbles really knew how to add. I couldn’t help but wonder if there was a trick or if it was all simply a coincidence. Dad, with a knowing smile, explained that Bubbles didn’t actually possess the ability to solve math problems. In reality, he had trained her to respond to certain cues. When he posed a math question, he would subtly tap his foot a certain number of times, prompting Bubbles to bark the corresponding number. Despite the initial disappointment, I realized that it was my own effort and perseverance that led to my improvement in math. My grades continued on an upward path. Bubbles couldn’t add, subtract, multiply or divide, but she sure could teach.

A CV is a sales document; it conveys the information of what you are looking for and why. Why you are qualified for such work, covering your previous work experience, education, qualification and interests, so effort should be made to make CV as clear as possible in order to sell you most effectively for the post which you are applying for.
Profile
The profile should be a short sentence stating clearly:
What work you are looking for
What you have to offer (Why you are qualified)
I believe in starting the CV with a profile. This explains to the employer what you are looking for and summarizes all of the attributes ( 特质) that can be found in detail on the rest of your CV.
The employer knows what they are looking for. If your profile states this in summary, then you are making their job a lot easier and they are more likely to put you in the “yes" pile, as they quickly check a large volume of CVs.
Work Experience
Work experience should come directly after the profile in reverse chronological (反向时间 顺序) order. The first thing an employer will look at is the last job you have had and if you had the relevant experience or achieved something relevant to the job you are applying for in previous roles.
Education
Education should be also in reverse chronological order.
Other Qualifications
If you have attended any training courses or have industrial qualifications they should be entered here. Remember this is a sales document ― list everything you have done here — sell yourself!
Interests
Qualify you hobbies and interests. Do not mention a thing like "I like to go running" without qualifying it as to what has been achieved. For example, it would be better to say “I am part of the Harriers running club.” or “I recently completed the Great North Run."
4.If your profile states your attributes in summary, you'll____.
A.make your job a lot easier
B.be sure to persuade the employer
C.be more likely to get the job
D.fail to pass the interview
5.To write a good CV, you have to _______.
A.tell everything you've experienced in detail
B.place the Profile after the Work Experience
C.use only short sentences to express yourself
D.present the relevant facts to the employers
6.Which is the most concerned by the possible employer
A.Your interests.
B.Your last job.
C.Your training courses.
D.Family background.
Giant pandas (大熊猫) are no longer endangered, Chinese officials have said, decades of work to save the creatures helped drive their population in the wild up to 1,800. The species will be listed as vulnerable (易危物种), Cui Shuhong, director of the Department of Natural Ecological Protection of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, said at a press conference on Wednesday.
China has spent half a century attempting to boost the population of its famous animals, creating panda reserves across several mountain ranges in an effort to save them from extinction. They were taken off the endangered list by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2016.
Since the 1970s, Chinese officials have worked on a campaign to drive up their numbers. To prevent habitat loss, officials created specially designed nature reserves in areas where their main food source, bamboo, is plentiful. In 2017, China announced plans for a 10,476-square-mile reserve, which is three times the size of Yellowstone National Park.
"China has established a relatively complete nature reserves system," Cui said on Wednesday as he announced the move. "Large areas of natural ecosystems have been systematically and completely protected, and wildlife habitats have been effectively improved."
Pandas are known in China as an umbrella species, which means experts believe measures to protect them would help protect other species, as well as the larger ecosystem. Cui added that the populations of some other rare and endangered species are gradually recovering as well. "The number of species such as Siberian tigers, Amur leopards, and Asian elephants has increased significantly." he said.
7.What has happened to giant pandas
A.They will never be protected in future.
B.Their nature reserves will decrease sharply.
C.They are not listed as endangered species.
D.They have to face the worsening situations.
8.What’s the meaning of the underlined word “boost” in paragraph 2
A.Increase. B.Maintain.
C.Cancel. D.Copy.
9.What can we know about an umbrella species
A.They can improve the production of umbrellas.
B.Protecting it is beneficial to a larger ecosystem.
C.They are not at the top of food chain in nature.
D.Protecting it means endangering other species.
10.Where is the text most probably taken from

Say “Sit” to your dog, and he’ll likely sit on the floor. But would he respond correctly if the word were spoken by a stranger, or someone with a thick accent A new study shows he will, suggesting dogs understand spoken words in a clever and complicated way long thought unique to humans.
Holly Root-Gutteridge, a biologist, and her colleagues ran a test. The researchers filmed 42 dogs of different breeds as they sat with their owners near an audio speaker that played noncommand words with similar sounds, such as “had”, “hid”, and “who’d”. The words were spoken-not by the dog’s owner-but by several strangers, men and women of different ages and with different accents.
In the video above, the dog Max turns quickly and listens seriously when he hears a woman say “had” for the first time. But as other women with different accents repeat the word, he loses interest, indicating he knows they are all saying the same word. When a speaker says a new word, like “who’d”, Max cheers up again, but his attention flags when a new voice returns to saying “had”. Together, these reactions suggest dogs recognize words regardless of the speaker-and that they don’t need any training to do it, the team reports today in Biology Letters.
“It’s wonderful—and novel—to see research looking at dogs’ reactions to words that are not commands or requests,” says Alexandra Horowitz, a researcher at Barnard College in New York City. Because of the nature of the test, however, the scientists cannot show that the dogs “understood” what the words meant, Horowitz points out. “But the work clearly demonstrates that dogs are listening to us,” she says, even when our speech is not about them.

How Sociologists Define Culture
Culture is one of the most important concepts within sociology because sociologists recognize that it plays a crucial role in our social lives. It is important for shaping social relationships, maintaining and challenging social order, determining how we make sense of the world and our place in it, and in shaping our everyday actions and experiences in society. 15
In brief, sociologists define the non–material aspects of culture as the values and beliefs, language, communication and practices that are shared in common by a group of people. Expanding on these categories, culture is made up of our knowledge, common sense, assumptions and expectations. It is also the rules, norms, laws and morals that govern society; the words we use as well as how we speak and write them; and the symbols we use to express meaning, ideas and concepts. 16 It informs and is encapsulated in how we walk, sit, carry our bodies and interact with others; how we behave depending on the place, time and “audience”; and how we express identities of race, class and gender, among others. Culture includes the collective practices we participate in as well, such as religious ceremonies, the celebration of secular holidays and attending sporting events.
17 This aspect of culture includes a wide variety of things, from buildings, technological gadgets and clothing, to film, music, literature and art, among others. Aspects of material culture are more commonly referred to as cultural products.
Sociologists see the two sides of culture—the material and non–material—as closely connected. Material culture emerges from and is shaped by the non-material aspects of culture. 18 But it is not a one–way relationship between material and non–material culture. Material culture can also influence the non-material aspects of culture. For example, a powerful documentary film might change people’s attitudes and beliefs. 19 What has come before in terms of music, film, television and art, for example, influences the values, beliefs and expectations of those who interact with them, which then, in turn, influence the creation of additional cultural products.
A.This is why cultural products tend to follow patterns.
B.It is composed of both non-material and material things.
C.Without culture, we would not have relationships or society.
D.Culture is also what we do and how we behave and perform.
E.Material culture is composed of the things that humans make and use.
F.Culture is distinct from social structure and economic aspects of society.
G.In other words, what we value, believe and know influences the things that we make.

I watched my dad scowl (绷着脸) as he listened to the voice coming through the telephone receiver. I heard him say, “Yes, Miss Beisner,” and “I understand what you’re saying, Miss Beisner. I appreciate you sharing this information. We’ll see what we can do about the situation. Thank you for calling. Goodbye.”
Miss Beisner was my first-grade teacher, and I loved her. I thought she felt the same about me, but now I was beginning to wonder. The tone of Dad’s voice, the redness in his cheeks, and his repeated clenching. And unclenching of fists made it pretty clear. This was not a warm and fuzzy good news-from-the-teacher call.
As I was deciding whether I should lock myself in my bedroom for the rest of my life or run away from home, Dad hung up the phone. “Jacquie, come here and sit down. We need to talk.”
Uh-oh. When Dad said, “We need to talk,” it meant he needed to talk, and I needed to listen.
I shuffled (拖着脚走) over to the well-worn brown chair in the corner of the living room, plopped down, and waited to hear the nature of my crime.
Dad told me that Miss Beisner thought I was bright but not working up to my ability. She said I had strong verbal skills but weak study habits. Translation: I never closed my mouth, and I seldom opened a book. Apparently, my failure to memorize the addition facts, or even attempt to, was more than she was willing to put up with. Hence, the telephone call.
Dad ended our one-way conversation with a verbal outline for his plan of attack. Bubbles, our Toy Manchester Terrier, was going to teach me math. Silently, I thought, No way is any dumb dog going to teach me how to add, not even our beloved Bubbles. Out loud, I said, “How ”
Dad summoned Bubbles from her bed near the stove and commanded her to sit. “Bubbles,” Dad said, “how much is five plus three ” Bubbles let out eight loud, crisp barks.
I was incredulous (满腹狐疑的). I couldn’t understand how a dog could add, and I was more than a little embarrassed by the fact that the family dog was smarter than me.
