It was raining very hard outside. Mr. Taylor was leaving home for work. He wanted to take an umbrella, but he found that out of all his three umbrellas, there was no one he could use. One day before Christmas, I noticed the brakes on my car getting weaker and weaker. They still worked but it took longer for my car to stop. I knew that I needed new brakes, but I had so many other things to do at that time.

Jessie and her two younger sisters lived with their mother in an apartment building.
