Why are your study habits different from those of your friends Why do you seem to learn faster in some classes while more slowly in others One reason you may not know is that people have different types. Scientists say there are three different learning types. Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic.
Visual learners learn best by seeing. If you seem to easily remember information from pictures, graphs, and videos, you are probably a visual learner. You're not good at copying down what the teacher says in class. Never mind. You can draw graphs or pictures instead, if you find that works better for you.
Auditory learners learn best by hearing. If you seem to easily remember things by hearing them, then you are probably an auditory learner. You must listen carefully while the teacher is speaking because it's the easiest way for you to learn. Sometimes you may find that taking notes stops you from listening carefully. After class, you can write down what you remember or borrow your friend's notes to copy.
Kinesthetic learners learn best by doing. If you seem to learn best by working with your hands, you are probably a kinesthetic learner. Taking notes by writing can make you pay close attention to information as you receive it. Of course, you can learn best by making full use of labs or other class activities.
Hope you learn better by knowing what your personal learning type is.

If you ask people of different countries “Could you tell me the way to the post office ”, you will get different answers.
In Japan, people use landmarks(路标) instead of street names. For example, the Japanese will say to travelers, “Go straight down to the corner. Turn left at the big hotel and go past a fruit market. The post office is across from the bus stop.”
In Kansas, America, there are no towns or buildings within miles. So instead of landmarks, people will tell you directions and distance. For example, people will say, “Go north two miles. Turn east, and then go another mile.”
People in Greece sometimes do not even try to give directions. They will often say, “Follow me.” Then he or she will take you through the street of the city to the post office.
Sometimes if the person doesn't know the answer to your question, he or she, like a New Yorker, might say, “Sorry, I have no idea.” But in Yucatan. Mexico, no one answers “I don't know.” People there think “I don't know.” is not polite. They usually give an answer, but often a wrong one. A visitor can always get lost in Yucatan!
But one thing will help you everywhere. You might not understand a person's words, but maybe you can understand his or her body language. He or she will usually point to the correct direction. Go on in that direction and you may find the post office.

If you used “add oil” to express encouragement or support someone in your spoken English or your homework in the past, your English teacher would tell you that you were wrong. But now, things are different. The phrase has been added to the Oxford English Dictionary. "Add oil” has been “legal(合法的)” Chinglish as well as “lose face”.
The phrase “加油”(jia you) in Chinese, means adding oil into an engine(发动机). Chinese often say it loudly in games and competitions to encourage players. Even though the phrase is widely used in the Chinese language, it's always been difficult to come up with a proper way to translate it into English. The phrase is used so often that some people jokingly (开玩笑地)translate it into “add oil”.
Before “add oil”, some other Chinese phrases have been included in the Oxford English Dictionary, such as “guanxi” [personal connections that aid(帮助) business] and “lucky money”(money given in red bags). In recent years, the Oxford English Dictionary has taken in other Chinese popular words like “tuhao”(meaning a rich person who comes from the countryside)and “dama”(referring to elderly women).
In 2014,the American Urban Dictionary took in a few Chinese Internet popular words, such as “no zuo no die”(which is translated into English as “if you don't do stupid things, they won't come back and bite you in the back”) and “you can you up, no can no BB” [which is translated into English as “if you can do it you should go on and do it, instead of criticizing(批评) others' work”].
According to the Oxford English Dictionary website, more than 1,400 new words and phrases have been added into it. With the development of China, there will be more Chinese popular words in English.
