高二英语试题听力原文
(Text 1)
M: Do you have any job openings
W: No, but if you fill out an application, we can keep it on file for a year. When there is an opening, we’ll call you.
(Text 2)
W: What do you wear when you exercise
M: I usually wear running shoes, jogging shorts, and a T-shirt.
W: Even in winter
M: Not usually. When it gets cold, I switch to sweat pants and put a jacket on over my T-shirt.
(Text 3)
W: Where do you want to eat tonight
M: I’m really hungry. Do you feel like Mexican food
W: Sure. We’ve had Japanese food and Chinese food a lot this week, so Mexican would be a nice change.
(Text 4)
M: Hey, Sarah, how was your weekend
W: It was great, Danny. I cleaned out the garage and now it looks brand new.
M: That’s awesome. I need to do the same, but with work, I just never have the time.
W: Just do it. It feels so good. And if you need help, let me know!
(Text 5)
M: Open up and say, “Ahhh.”
W: Ahhh.
M: Hm. It looks as if you may have a couple of holes in your teeth. I’ll have to take an X-ray to see just how bad things are.
W: Really I brush my teeth after every meal.
(Text 6)
W: You’re going to Chicago tomorrow, right What time does your flight leave
M: At eleven. Why
W: Oh, that’s great. I have a flight at noon, and I was hoping we could take a taxi to the airport together.
M: Sure. That’d be fine. Are you going to the conference in Chicago, too
W: No, I’m off to Toronto. I’ve applied for a position at a firm there, and they’ve asked me to come up for an interview.
(Text 7)
W: I’m so relieved. We finally managed to find someone to take over the weekend shift.
M: That is good to hear. Do you want me to send him an employee handbook The mail is going out in half an hour.
W: The new guy is coming this morning. I can give it to him then.
M: I’d like to meet him when he gets here. What time is he coming
(Text 8)
M: Gail, your paintings are amazing. How did you get into it
W: Thanks, Kevin. I’ve always loved art, but never had the time to try it myself. With this new job, I have more free time, so I decided to take some classes. I’m enjoying it and getting better.
M: That’s great. Any inspirations
W: Mostly my aunt. She’s really talented. My mum always showed me her work when I was a kid.
M: Well, it seems like it runs in the family! Are there any works that you’re particularly proud of
W: Yeah, a couple. There’s this landscape I just finished. Let me show you.
M: Wow, that’s beautiful. The colors and detail are amazing. Great job, Gail!
(Text 9)
M: That test was so long! Four hours! I really do not understand why we have to take this test anyway. Are our grade point averages not good enough for college
W: But since the courses of one high school are slightly different from another high school, the SAT test allows the colleges to consider each student equally. Although one student might have taken different classes from another student, all high school students take the same SAT test.
M: I suppose that makes sense. Either way, I really hope I do not have to take that test again!
W: Same here. Anyway, have you gotten your recommendation letters yet
M: I have asked Mrs. Smith for one already, and I am thinking about asking Mr. Johnson for another one. What about you
W: I also asked Mrs. Smith for a letter. Do you know Mr. Lawson I would like to get a recommendation letter from him. I hope he remembers me as I have not had a class with him since last year.
M: Well, at least we each have one letter. Mrs. Smith is the best, isn’t she I wish I could have another class with her, but this is our last semester, and after that it is graduation!
W: I agree. Mrs. Smith really enjoys teaching, and that definitely helps her students enjoy learning.
(Text 10)
M: I’ll talk about our last night in Venice. We had made a reservation at a very expensive restaurant on the Grand Canal, called The Moon Over Venice. We had found out about it on a website at home. Well, there was just my wife and myself, at this table with a superb position right by the window overlooking the canal and the city — it was just breathtaking. We ate delicious seafood and a bottle of Italian white wine which was $70. We were enjoying our last night, spending the last of our vacation money to be honest! And then the bill came, and it was a big bill. Well, I couldn’t find my wallet and my wife never has money on her. It was so embarrassing to say the least! I’d left my money in the hotel and after a phone call or two, it was all resolved. I went back the next day to pay the bill. I left a very big tip too because they had been very nice about everything.

Dear Mike,
Knowing that you are returning home, I am writing with the objective of extending my sincere gratitude for your generous encouragement and help during the ITIC.
Before the competition, it was you who offered numerous brilliant and creative ideas for its preparation, which contributed a lot to our first prize. During the contest, you gave me continuous guidance, from which I benefited a lot. What impressed me most is your calmness and profound knowledge despite the fierceness of the contest and the pressure from the rivals. If it hadn't been your assistance, I wouldn't have completed the contest successfully. Therefore, not only does the award demonstrate the success in our cooperation, but it also proves your capability.
Words fail to express my heartfelt appreciation to you. I hope there will be another chance for us to cooperate together. May you be happy and smooth every day.
Yours,
Li Hua

He couldn’t pull John out of the pit, so he decided to get out and seek help. With a heavy heart, he departed from John and pressed onward as swiftly as possible. David ran with all his might, retracing their earlier steps and shouting for help, his voice echoing through the vast emptiness, hoping that someone might hear his cries. Minutes felt like hours, and with each passing second, his anxiety grew. Just when he thought all hope was lost, David spotted a group of villagers not too far away. Relief flooded through him as he waved his arms and yelled to attract their attention. Upon approaching them, David gasped for breath and explained everything to the villagers. They quickly gathered supplies and formed a rescue party.
Together, they journeyed back to where John awaited rescue. The rescue party worked quickly, using ropes to lift John out of the pit. Hardly had John emerged than he was greeted with cheers and applause from the group. They tended to his wounds, which were fortunately not that serious, and helped him to his feet. Exhausted but relieved, John’s heart overflowed with gratitude to David and the villagers, whose unwavering support and kindness served as a saving grace. Their journey taught them the importance of preparation, caution, and respect for nature's unpredictable power. Both men knew that this experience would stay with them forever, a testament to the power of friendship and determination in the face of adversity.
