Snowboarding gift Su Yiming made a name for himself by winning China's first Olympic gold in the sport on Tuesday. By cleanly circling back-to-back 1800 tricks, the teenager landed the biggest prize so far in his young career-gold in the men's Big Air at the Beijing Winter Olympics. The notable achievement realized a childhood dream to reach the peak of the sport, which he began to learn at the age of 4.
Now with two shinning medals hung around his neck, the 17-year-old described his outstanding Olympic debut (首秀)as an unbelievable experience that has made all his efforts worthwhile. “This feels so unreal that I've finally accomplished what I've dreamed of since I was little,” said an emotional Su.
Over the past four years, Su has combined his talent with hard work to produce one of the swiftest rises to excellence the sport has ever seen. When the Shougang Big Air venue(会场) hosted its first international event, Su was an unknown qualifier, who didn't even make the final runs. Just over two years later, Su is the name on everyone's lips at the venue Olympic debut-drawing the whole nation's attention to the sport he loves.
“The biggest motivation(动力) for me is my love for snowboarding,” Su said, when asked about the secret to his success. “In snowboarding, I feel like I can show my own style and creativity. Every time I ride my board, it's always a joyful moment. I hope through my experience, I can inspire more young people to get interested in the sport.”
Su, a former child actor who featured in action movies, said the Olympic gold will encourage him to seek for more breakthroughs- even beyond his athletic career. “I enjoy snowboarding just as much as I enjoy acting,” said Su, who turns 18 on Friday. “I think I still have a lot of possibilities to explore in my future career either in snowboarding or in acting. But now I just want to enjoy the moment and celebrate it as the best possible birthday gift.”

There are different regional accents across the UK, and a number of regions have several different dialects-that is, they have their own unique vocabulary and grammatical phrases. There are many different accents native to London, because it is not just where a person is born in the UK that decides their accent. Language and accents also differ across class and level of education. Therefore, the recent rise of a new accent coined at the end of the 20th century, “Multicultural London English.” Other factors are also important in the invention of new accents and ways of speaking. These include the influence of people from different racial(种族的) backgrounds and different age groups, too.
The word “yoof' is a slang spelling of “youth”. Some people consider “yoof” to be a negative term, since its pronunciation is easier and lazier than youth. Other people see the term as positive, because it describes how young people are creating their own language, concepts and identity. By using words that their parents don't understand, children can talk about things that their parents might not agree with. In this way, young people are starting to find freedom, independence and self-expression. They are creating a “yoof culture”. A few features(特点)of the yoof style of language are as follows:
· instead of 'think', 'the', 'that', what' and 'because', yoof will say 'fink', 'da', 'dat','wot' and'coz'.
· instead of using a variety of tag questions like “., isn't it ” or “... don't they ”, yoof will use the all-purpose 'innit' (e.g. “It's hot, innit! ”or “You can dance really well, innit!”)
· instead of “I don't care!”, yoof will say “Whatever!”.
Certain groups of society feel threatened by 'yoof culture' or by the British working classes having more social freedom. As a result, a negative term now commonly used in the UK is 'chav'.It is an insult(辱骂)and is meant to describe someone who is uneducated and anti-social (e.g. “He's a chav!” ). A young person who wears a jacket with a hood-after all, it is often cold and rains a lot in the UK-is sometimes called a 'hoodie'. It is a negative term again and suggests that the young person is interested in committing a crime(犯罪).
Learners of English often feel that the best test of their English is how well they can talk to a native speaker, but perhaps they should worry less about this. In fact, when we think about 'international English', there is no such thing as a native or non-native speaker. The UK no longer owns the English language.
28.Which of the following is NOT mentioned as a factor in the invention of new accents
A.Class.
B.Race.
C.Age.
D.Family.
29.What does “it” in paragraph 2 mean
A.The word “yoof”.
C.Other people's attitude.
B.The pronunciation of “yoof'.
D. Multicultural London English.
30.What's the probable feature of “ yoof languages”
A.They are only used online.
B. They are simple but easy to understand.
C. They are usually an incomplete list of words.
D.They are short but have complete grammar structure.
31.What is the main idea of paragraph 3
A.Young people are more likely to commit a crime.
B. Yoof culture has a bad influence on young people.
C. Certain groups have negative ideas of the yoof culture.
D.Different people have different attitudes towards yoof culture.

IT'S A TYPICAL morning: you wake up, take a shower, brush your teeth, and then prick(刺;扎)your arm with a tiny needle. Wait, what? Unless you have a serious disease such as diabetes, you probably haven't ever tested your own blood. But in the future, that might change.
The company Cor already sells a system for home blood testing. You stick your arm using a supposedly painless, one-off,blood-drawing cartridge(针筒)about the size of a lipstick. Then you stick the cartridge into a device(装置) that looks like the base for an electric toothbrush. A few minutes later, an app on your phone buzzes with updated information, including your current health data(数据) and tips on what to eat and how to exercise during the day.
It's true that blood contains a wealth of information about a person's health. Blood tests can show if a person is infected with a disease or at risk for a variety of problems, including a heart attack or a stroke. But most people don't test their own blood until a doctor says it's time. Healthy young adults get regular blood tests about every five years. These tests happen at a lab, where a technician or a nurse sticks a long needle into the arm to draw out several tubes full of blood. Cor and similar companies, such as WellnessFX, are trying to change all that. They think people deserve access to more information about their own health.
But not everyone is convinced that regular blood testing for healthy people is a great idea. Cor's system is expensive and may not offer much benefit. “The lightest result here is that you lose your money and then you're reminded to get more sleep and to eat more fruits, vegetables, and fish,” Pieter Cohen of Harvard Medical School told the New York Times. “The worst result is that you end up getting frightened by probably abnormal results that are actually completely normal for you.”
Plus, the results of a home blood test might be wrong. It's hard to get accurate results from a tiny amount of blood. So what do you think Is monitoring your own health via pinpricks the way of the future Or is it better to leave blood testing to medical professionals

34. What's Pieter Cohen's attitude towards this kind of system
A.Negative.
B.Unclear.
C.Supportive.
D.Objective.
35.Which of the following could be the best title for the text

Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Li Hua, a student of Class One Grade One. Glad to know that new members are wanted in the English Reading Club, I'm writing to apply to join it.
Outgoing and warm-hearted, I am able to get on well with others. When it comes to my favorite book, I prefer classical literature, especially western classical novels because they can give me a deep insight into western culture, thus stimulating my mind and cultivating sentiment.
I think it's so nice to join the English Reading Club. First of all, the club makes many English learners meet here together and find some like-minded friends. Secondly, learning together makes it easier for us to improve our English reading ability. Last but not least, joining the club can enrich our campus life.
I sincerely hope my application can meet with your approval. Looking forward to your early reply.
Yours,
Li Hua

W:Tell me what subjects you're interested in.
M:Oh,many different ones.
W:Well, which book did you just return (14)(16)
M: It was The History of Jews in Russia.(14)
W:So,you must be interested in history.
M: A little. I was mainly reading that book to find out more about my grandfather's family.
W: I see. And what do you usually read for fun
M:Comic books. But now I want to read more serious literature, (15) like War and Peace.
W: That's a long and heavy book. I'm going to recommend something a little easier to start with. It's fiction with some history included in the story.
M:Who is the author
W: A famous English writer named Charles Dickens. You can start with one of his most well-known works, Great Expectations.
