Have you ever seen snow Many people in the world have not seen it. It never snows in some countries. There is only a little on the tops of very high mountains in some places. In the north of England, there’s quite a lot of snow every winter. But in the south of England, there is usually little snow.
When a student from a warm country comes to England in autumn for the first time, he feels cold at first. There are often dark clouds, grey sky and cold rain in England in autumn, and most students from warm countries do not like this.

The traditional Chinese lunar calendar(农历)divides the year into 24 solar terms. It’s very useful for people’s life and work. Let’s have a look.
The Beginning of Spring(立春), the first solar term of the year, falls on February 4th this year. After the Beginning of Spring, the daytime is becoming longer and the weather is becoming warmer. And people eat spring pancakes and spring rolls on the day.
The Summer Solstice(夏至), the 10th solar term, falls on June 21st this year. The Summer Solstice is not the hottest time in a year. The hottest days often come 20 to 30 days later. People have a tradition of eating noodles on the day.
The Autumn Equinox(秋分), the 16th solar term, falls on September 22nd this year. On this day, the day and night are of equal length(等长). Life is like the four seasons. Now I am very old, but when I was young, it was the spring of my life. I played a lot, and then I started school. I learned many new things. Like a flower, I grew bigger and bigger every day. There were happy days and sorrowful days: some days the sun shone, and some days it didn’t.
In my twenties, I had a good job. I was strong. Then I got married and had a child. In those days I didn’t have much time to think or to play. Every day I was busy and worked hard. And so, I started to get some white hairs. The summer of my life passed quickly.
