Every week, two converted blue buses packed with children's books carefully drive along the streets of Kabul, avoiding areas where deadly explosions are common. These travelling libraries stop off at schools in different parts of the city, delivering a wealth of reading material directly to youngsters who have limited access to books.
“A lot of schools in our city don't have access to something as basic as a library,” says Freshta Karim, an Oxford University graduate who was inspired to start Charmaghz, a non-profit organization, in her home city having grown up without many books herself. “We were trying to understand what we could do to promote critical thinking in our country.”
While for many people a bus or train journey presents a rare opportunity to get stuck into a book, in some cities public transport is being used as a means of getting books to communities that need them most. Afghanistan, for example, has one of the world's lowest literacy rates, with only three in ten adults able to read, according to UNESCO. The majority of public schools in Kabul do not have libraries and the city's libraries do not offer many children's books. For Karim, buses were a cost-effective, efficient way to get books to children.
Charmaghz rents them from a state-owned bus company. “We go to nearby schools,” she says. “We try to stop inside communities rather than on the main streets where explosions often happen.”
The organization is funded by donations from local businesses and communities, and also rents a third bus that acts as a mobile cinema. Over 600 children visit the buses each day to read, socialise and play games. “They are often very excited,” she says. “Our biggest challenge is that so many children want to come inside the bus, but we can't have all of them in one day.”
1.Why does Freshta Karim set up the organization
A.To raise money for the poor.
B.To recycle abandoned buses.
C.To build libraries for the local schools.
D.To offer the children more reading opportunities.
2.What is special about Charmaghz
A.It's funded by UNESCO.
B.It's a state-owned organization.

D.It aims to inspire critical thinking.
3.What is the most pressing problem for Charmaghz
A.Deadly explosions.
B.The poor public transport system.

As is known to all, true beauty comes from within, but sometimes it's not easy to know how to explain it. 1
Inner beauty is in the everyday choices you make.
When we are faced with small, daily choices such as whether to tell a white lie to avoid trouble, our inner beauty or the lack thereof comes out. 2 Honesty is real inner beauty. While no one is perfect, inner beauty will show itself in the repeated choices a person makes.
 3
I've known several people who were pretty on the outside, but when they said unkind words, they suddenly looked so ugly! True beauty comes from within and often comes out through your words.
Inner beauty is in how you respond to mistakes.
When someone makes a mistake and it annoys you, how do you respond True beauty comes from within when someone is understanding. Someone without inner beauty will be angry. And when you are the one who made a mistake, how do you respond Do you accept it and move on, giving yourself room to grow A person with inner beauty doesn't see mistakes as threats. 4
Inner beauty is on the outside.
If you look closely enough, you can see inner beauty from the outside. 5 And the truth is that when people get to know you, they can really find your inner beauty. The opposite is true if you have ugliness on the inside—it will come out in your expression. The truth comes out, and it really does, whether you like it or not.

长难句
原句 While for many people a bus or train journey presents a rare opportunity to get stuck into a book, in some cities public transport is being used as a means of getting books to communities that need them most.
分析 本句是主从复合句。While意为“尽管,虽然”,引导让步状语从句;不定式短语“to get stuck into a book”作后置定语,修饰抽象名词opportunity;that引导定语从句,修饰先行词communities。
译文 虽然对许多人来说,乘坐公共汽车或火车旅行是一个难得的机会,可以让他们专心阅读书籍,但在一些城市,公共交通正被用作将书籍送到最需要它们的社区的一种手段。

3.A 主旨句。根据本段中“True beauty comes from within and often comes out through your words.”可知,真正的美来自内心,并且常常通过你的言语表现出来。A项(内在美就在你的言语之中。)符合语境,同时结合前后段落的主题句的句式特点可推知,此处应选“Inner beauty is...”句式。
4.G 细节句。根据上文“A person with inner beauty doesn't see mistakes as threats.”可知,拥有内在美的人不会把错误视为威胁。G项(相反,他将这些过失看作生命中重要的一部分以及一个学习的机会。)承接上文,说明有内在美的人是如何看待错误的。G项中的them指代上文中的mistakes。
