Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 in Italy. He is best known as an artist today. One of his famous paintings is called Mona Lisa. However, Leonardo had many other natural abilities. His most special invention was the machine gun, which was produced and used in war many years later.
By watching the way birds fly, Leonardo tried to find out the secret of flying. Among his sketches(素描) we can see several objects. We consider them as modern flying machines. Leonardo spent many hours thinking about how to make good use of time. He developed ideas for labor-saving machines like cutting machines.
Leonardo was a strange man. He didn’t eat any meat, which was unusual in those times. He never published his ideas and scientific discoveries. He usually used mirror writing, which looks like writing in a mirror, starting from the right side of the page and moving to the left.
We have very little of his work today. Leonardo finished only a few of his paintings. He left many unfinished because he thought they were not perfect. No one in his life time knew how great Leonardo was. We now believe, however, that he was one of the cleverest men the world has ever known.

Seeing blood in a horror movie might make you cover your eyes, but real blood isn’t scary at all.
36 That’s why blood donors are considered lifesavers.
Blood donors are those giving blood --- usually about 200ml at a time --- to blood banks or blood donation ( 捐 赠 ) centers. 37 For example, someone may have lost blood in accidents, or have a serious illness that requires his blood to be replaced. Hospitals and blood banks store the blood and try to keep enough on hand.
38 Medical workers ask donors several questions to make sure the blood is safe to use. Then the donors relax, often reading a magazine or talking as their blood is drawn. Afterward, the donors may receive some juice or water and maybe fruit to give them energy. The process is simple, not scary. 39 To give blood, a person must be at least 18 years old and must meet certain other requirements.
Students of all ages, though, can learn more about the donation process by visiting a local blood donation center. 40 It is also an easy way to help a community.
A.Donating blood is not difficult.

询问人口多少使用句型“What’s the population of……
2.A
if如果;until到…… 结合语境和空前后两句“you will get fined”和“you don’t walk along the crosswalk while crossing the road”可知,如果不走人行道,就会被罚款,所以空后是条件,因此这里用连词“如果”if引导条件状语从句。故选A。
3.A
because of 和because都表“因为”,但是because是连词,后面跟句子,而本题空格后面是“the strong wind”短语,故选A。
4.B
5.A
carried out 执行;put out 熄灭;looked out 当心;given out 分发。根据“a Second-policy”可知,二孩政策要实施,故用carried out,故选A。
6.B
根据第一空前后has和in the world可知,中国在世界上人口最多,所以这里用最高级the largest。
support支持,动词原形;lost一般过去时;to support动词不定式;has lost现在完成时;supporting动词ing形式;will lose一般将来时;supported动词的过去式或过去分词;is losing现在进行时。分析问句语境和空前is it hard for Mr. Wang可知,这里用“It is +形容词+for sb to do sth”的结构,所以第一空用动词不定式“to support”。
9.A
with有;of……的;has有,动词have的三单形式;as作为;in在…… 的人口”a population of,所以第二空用介词of。故选A。
10.A
not only, but also不仅,而且;neither, nor既不,也不;not, but不是,而是;either, or要么,要么。 故选A。
11.C 12.C 13.C 14.D 15.A 16.C 17.B 18.A 19.A 20.C
Many women have joined in a ______ club可知妇女已经加入了俱乐部,用现在完成时。
根据“they usually get together and invite some ...”
for为了,因为;between在……之间;with和…… 根据上文“So far, they have invented nine.”
reached达到;arrived 抵达,加地点时需要先加介词in/at;got 得到,加地点时需要先加介词to;arrived in抵达,到达,后接大地点。
由于前面The more...后面也要用The more... 故选C。
根据空格前后的意思,More than超过, people in the world 世界上的人们,结合语境可知,此处指世界上超过一半的人,定冠词the修饰people,要用half of the people ,故选B。
for为了;in在……内;on在…… 根据语境及下文“Just then a woman stood up and said...”
21.A 22.C 23.C 24.B 25.D

故填are。
故填it。
根据句意和空前后is used以及making可知,这里用短语be used for doing sth“被用来做某事”,因此用介词for。故填for。
结合语境和空前后两句“Then the teacher can give certain students more help or support”和“those students can succeed in school”的句意可知,根据大数据提供的信息,由于老师对某些需要更多帮助的学生提供了帮助,所以那些学生也能学有所成,空前后两句是因果关系,所以这里用连词so。故填so。
故填the。
56.European

58.increasing
59.capital
60.excellent

62.policy
63.reached
64.such
分析语境和空后a kind teacher以及首字母s的提示可知,这里用“such+a/an+形容词+可数名词单数”的结构;根据句意和空后that可知,本句还是“such...that(如此…… 故填such。
65.Because of
“因为”是连词because或者短语because of,而空格后连接的“the large population”是短语而不是句子,所以此处用because of连接,故填Because of。
