As the most popular drink in the world (after water), tea is no stranger to us. But how much do you know about tea sets Do you know that they have changed a lot over time
In general, tea sets become smaller and simpler after many changes throughout history. There are few records of tea sets before the the Tang Dynasty. In Cha Jing (The Classic of Song Dynasty Tea), a great book written by Lu Yu in the Tang Dynasty, 28 kinds of tools used for making and drinking tea are mentioned.
The tea sets in the Tang Dynasty were simple while the ones in the Song Dynasty were more gorgeous (华丽的). In the Song Dynasty, the competitive game based on tea drinking enjoyed great popularity. The tea bottle used in the game often had a big belly, a long neck, and a curved (弧形的) mouth, which could control the water better when filling a cup. Cups made of black glaze (黑釉) were especially loved by people then. The color matches the tea better and the thickness of the cup can help keep the tea warm.
In the Ming and Qing dynasties, tea sets became simple again, and those made of gold and silver gradually disappeared. To test the color of the tea, white tea sets were more popular. In the Qing Dynasty, purple clay tea sets made in Yixing, Jiangsu developed quickly and were loved widely. It is said that tea made by Yixing's purple clay tea sets still tastes good after being kept in the teapot for one night even in hot summer.

When Ami Vitale first picked up a camera, something amazing happened. The once-shy young woman began to interact with people, learn new things and experience new cultures. Over the years, she has travelled to more than 100 countries to take pictures.
At first, Vitale photographed people in war-torn areas. In 2009, she heard the story of Sudan, the world's last male northern white rhino (犀牛). In order to save the northern white rhinos from disappearing, Sudan was brought back to Africa from a European zoo. Sadly, it died and his death means there are only two females left in the world. Virale felt sorry and decided to do something. So she started to photograph wildlife.
▲ Vitale has to get up early for her pictures. Some photographers visit different places on one trip, but Vitale prefers to stay in one place and spend months learning about the animals. When taking pictures of animals, Vitale is careful not to stress them out by getting too close. She even wore a panda suit to get close to pandas in China.
"I see lots of technically beautiful images," Vitale said. "But the best image needs to have the soul. It needs to make me think and have meaning behind it."
"My photographs are a tool for creating understanding across cultures, communities and countries. They show how small and deeply connected our world is. The stories about wildlife are really about all of us, our home and our future."
23. Which of the following is TRUE about Ami Vitale according to Paragraph 1
A. She used to like meeting new people. B. Photography has changed her a lot.
C. She travelled to many countries to relax. D. She learned to take pictures at a young age.
24. What made Vitale decide to photograph wildlife
A. The terrible wars. B. The story of Sudan.
C. Her love for animals. D. A trip to a European zoo.
25. Which of the following can be put in the ▲
A. Hard work always pays off. B. Vitale is good at photographing wildlife.
C. Photographing wildlife is hard work. D. It is more interesting to photograph wildlife.
26. What does Vitale want to tell us through her photographs
A. How small our world is! B. It takes time to save wild animals.
C. We should leave wild animals alone. D. Saving wildlife is saving ourselves.
D
When night falls, trunks (后备箱) of private cars are turned into special mobile stalls (摊位) on the street. They sell everything from drinks to clothes at good prices. Lots of customers would like to buy something each time they pass by. This is the trunk market which has become popular in many cities.
Those who sell things at the stalls are mostly young people. Many young stallholders say they set up the stalls out of interest. They think they might be able to make some money after work. And they find the lively market brings them a special feeling of satisfaction. “Every time I work at my stall, I get to talk with nice passers-by. It feels great to meet new friends, ” said a stallholder. “I really enjoy hearing people tell me how good my coffee is, ” another stallholder said.
But young people can’t expect to make a lot of money from the business because the number would fluctuate. For example, a coffee stall may sell 60 cups of coffee on a good day, but less than 10 cups on another day. And when the weather is bad, the stallholder couldn’t even go out to the market.
While enjoying the fun of buying things at the trunk market, some people also worry about its development. As the food sold there is mostly fast food, no one knows for sure whether it is safe. And each time the market closes, rubbish can be seen everywhere on the street. Besides, people living nearby may find it noisy. Thankfully, some areas are already taking action to make the market go further.
27. What can we learn about the trunk market
A. It opens all day long. B. Its stalls can be moved easily.
C. Its stalls sell things at high prices. D. It first appeared in the countryside.
28. The second paragraph is mainly about ________.
A. what young stallholders think of the trunk market
B. when young stallholders come to the trunk market
C. what young people enjoy doing after work
D. how young people make new friends
29. The underlined word “fluctuate” probably means “________”.
A. fall heavily B. grow slowly C. increase fast D. change a lot
30. What can we infer from the passage
A. Coffee is the most popular drink at trunk markets.
B. The trunk market is not allowed in some cities.
C. Efforts should be made to improve the trunk market.
D. Most young people prefer buying things online.
第二节(共5小题,每小题2分,满分10分)
下面文章中有五处(第31-35题)需要添加首句。请从以下选项(A、B、C、D和E)中选出符合各段意思的首句。每个选项限用一次。
Where you sit and how you fit
31._____________For more than seventy years, researchers and teachers have studied the link between the place where students choose to sit in class and what they are like as people and learners. Where do you usually decide to sit Have you ever really thought about the reasons for your decision
32._____________But is this really true Well, some researchers say it is not. In fact, shy students often choose the back row because it is far away from the teacher and they don’t want to answer questions. At the back, students probably won't speak much, but in big classrooms, it can be hard to see the board and hear what the teacher is saying. This could be the reason why students who sit here often get lower grades on tests and exams. For students with poor eyesight or hearing, a seat at the back of the classroom is not a good choice.
33._____________However, they like watching and listening rather than joining in. These students are usually also very good at taking notes. Next time you miss a class, borrow notes from someone who sits here. On the sides of the classroom you will generally find modest and thoughtful people. These people usually get good grades in school and are interested in learning.
34.______________Then the statistics(统计数据) say you probably like your teacher. You probably also have a good relationship with your classmates. Caring, outgoing, and cheerful people usually sit in the middle. They are normally serious about learning and feel disappointed with low grades on tests and exams.
35.______________Students who sit here usually want to discuss things with the teacher and are often very interested in the subject. They want to be in the best place to see and hear everything the teacher does and says. The only problem with sitting here is that it can be difficult to see and hear what other students do and say in class. So, if you really want to hear what everyone says in class, choose a different place to sit.
A. You probably sit right at the front of the class if you're thirsty for knowledge. B. Research suggests that the seat you choose in the classroom says a lot about you. C. Do you sit in the middle of the classroom D. People often think that students who sit at the back are lazy. E. Students who sit at the side of the classroom are normally interested in class.
